Successful mines are built on the ability to standardize workflows, which ensure accountability and improve collaboration. Reliance on spreadsheets is inadequate to present a tactical level of detail, especially when based on siloed information. In some mines, haulage and scheduling are being completed separately and there’s little to no insight into the impact of scheduling decisions which can lead to a frustrating loop of manual iterations and time-consuming adjustments.

This presentation provides an overview of HxGN MinePlan Activity Scheduler and showcases the solution’s capabilities in building tactical schedules with the level of detail necessary to minimize variance between plan and execution. A walkthrough of the interface, visualization integration, reporting, and other functionalities will also be part of this session.

Ran Bao, Hexagon's Mining Division

Ran is one of Hexagon's resident mine planning experts in the Asia-Pacific region, and currently involved with software product training and facilitating project implementations at clients' sites. Ran's technical knowledge is coupled with his bilingual (Mandarin) skills in assisting clients across the region with their mine planning optimization.

Ran has over 10 years of experience in the mining industry, having worked with prominent mining entities such as Rio Tinto, Wesfarmers Resources Limited, and Gold Fields Ltd. He holds a degree in Mining Engineering from Curtin University of Technology.
